Port Charlotte 9 Year Old 2012 SC:01 Sauternes Cask

Bruichladdich present this wonderfully bbq smoky sweet expression, released as a part of their heavily peated Port Charlotte range. The single malt has been made with 100% Islay barley, and matured in a combination of sherry butts and American oak casks with a finish in Sauternes wine casks. Bottled at 55.2% abv, and free from chill filtration. 

Expect fruity and floral notes on the nose, with touches of peach, brown sugar, honeysuckle and apricot that intertwine with waves of heather peat smoke. On the palate, we find flavours of stem ginger, roasted almonds, dried fruit, earthy peat, leather, vanilla and oak, which lead into notes of tobacco, citrus and iodine on the close.
